Trip to Long Thanh

So, yesterday, I was SUPPOSED to go to Vung Tau Beach with Long. I haven't seen him in a while and decided to go see him and try to salvage a friendship. Stupid choice. I drove an hour on my motorbike to his house in Long Thanh so we could go to the beach from there. When I arrived, he decided that he didn't want to go. He said, "We'll go tomorrow." One of the reasons I stopped hanging out with him is because he always breaks promises. Another reason is that he only thinks of himself and not about the people around him. It's all about what Long wants to do. So, I'm done with the friendship.

There were some nice parts of the trip, actually. His mother made us a nice lunch. Long asked me if I wanted to play volleyball, so we went to his brother in law's home. He lives in company housing, and there were a lot of guys around to play volleyball with. Long left me and didn't play volleyball. I kinda suck at volleyball, but I had a good time. I came down on my ankle wrong and scratched up my foot a bit. Ouch.

Later, Long told me there was a party and invited me to drink beer. Again, he bailed and didn't show. But, I met new friends and saw some of the guys I played volleyball with. We drank and had a good time. They all spoke very good English. I wish I had gotten some pictures of them.

After the party, Long drove us home, and we went to sleep. He and his mom prepared a mosquito net over a mattress on a floor. Five star hotel, indeed, complete with having to go outside to the bathroom.

We woke up this morning and went out for pho and coffee. I was excited about going to Vung Tau as Long said yesterday that we would go today. Big surprise, he once again said, "Not today. Tomorrow." So I said, "Eff that!" I really couldn't wait to get home. Long Thanh is so boring. It's in the country so I was disinterested with everything. Long decided he would come back with me and surprise Trang, his wife who he's recently separated from because he had two girlfriends on the side. That's another reason why I stopped hanging out with him. Anyway, so we drove to Bien Hoa, and he decided he wanted to go to his friend's house. We showed up, and his friend wasn't there. Trang wasn't at home either. Why he didn't call these people before coming to Bien Hoa is beyond me. It was just a big inconvenience, and I'm so frustrated with the entire situation.

Anyway, it's time for a nap now.
