2 Work Parties

So, my birthday evening kicked off with two parties at my school. Mind you, this was before the other two parties later in the evening. The first was one with the teachers, and the second was thrown by one of the classes (The Dream) I teach. Below are some photos of the events.

My Birthday Extravaganza!

Sometimes words don't do justice; that's what photos are for, right?

The party started with my students from the New World/Horizon class coming to my house, cooking wonderful Vietnamese food, and drinking beer! We had a great time. These photos are from our lovely celebration.

A Trip to Buu Long Park

On Sunday, I had a day off. So did Nancy. We ventured out to Buu Long Park here in Bien Hoa City. I had been there before, but unbeknownst to me, there was a zoo of sorts there with monkeys, deer, goats, peacocks, and baboons! There were even bumper cars! Below are some photos we took while visiting there. It was a great day!

The monkey was so tame. She let me hold her hands and feet and scratch her back.

Family Visit

Over the weekend, one of my roommates had a boo-boo and broke a stair with some old cement mixing contraption he was carrying up to his room to mold into a bed. Odd. Anyway, the family (landlords) came over to have a meeting of sorts. Here are some photos from their little visit :) I love them so much.

Stickers! I found stickers!!

So I've been on the hunt for I don't know how long for USA Flag stickers for my helmet and bike. After grabbing some strawberry smoothies yesterday, Vee and I just by chance took a look in a sticker shop right across the street from my house.. and just LOOK what I found!

Another Night of Karaoke

So.. last night after work, Nancy and I were invited by Mrs. Nam and Mr. Chau to eat at a restaurant of a friend of theirs. The night turned into a barrage of whiskey drinking and karaoke. I'm not a late night person any more so I was quite ready to go home well before eleven. The night continued on to a karaoke dive down the road from my house. Below are a couple of photos from the night.

This is part of a rhino horn. It's $10,000 for 4 grams. Apparently, when ground up and put in water, it cures acid reflux (for the night). I must say that it did a splendid job! I had no acid reflux all night! Pictured with me is the owner of the restaurant, Hau, and the purchaser of the rhino horn (well over 4 grams). Suffice it to say, he's got a little bit of money.

Here we are afterward trying to thumb through all the songs in an attempt to find songs in English.

Yaye! A Letter!

I got a letter from my wonderful high school friend, Jennifer. She sent me American flag stickers for my helmet. Fortunately, the letter arrived safely. Unfortunately, there were no stickers to be found. Oh well! Thanks for trying, my dear friend! haha!
